Happy new year! It’s the start of 2023. It’s been a while!

This site was originally supposed to be a FIRE blog about our transition to FIRE in 2021 and 2022. We’ve not posted recently because my short-term contract was extended last year. I eventually got converted to full-time. We had planned to keep posting financial updates, but there wasn’t enough time. So, both life and this blog haven’t turned out like we’d planned.

Now that 2022 has turned to 2023, I feel like at least going back and reviewing 2022.  (Spoiler: We spent way more than expected.) Over the next few weeks, I’ll try to put together some small posts about that. I think I’m posting this entry to create some sort of accountability, in hopes that I’ll actually follow through with those posts in a timely manner. We’ll see!
